Grade 9 learners at the Rivlife Professional Forum.

At Rivlife we understand that learners need to be aware of their viable career options early on in their education and that leaving these decisions to after schooling is too late. The aim of the Careers Expo is to assist learners from high schools within the area, to make informed choices regarding the subjects that they choose and the careers that they would like to pursue after school. Many of these learners come from low-income communities with little or no opportunity to explore their career options further. They resolve to follow certain careers after school, or pursue studies that they were not able to research earlier and as a result, drop out of schools and other learning institutions.

A learner receives valuable advice on her subject choices.

In an attempt to equip the youth with the necessary skills and to reduce the drop-out rate, Rivlife also hosts a panel of experts who spend the day offering impactful advice regarding popular vocations. In addition, institutions who can provide information regarding funding and learnership opportunities are invited as part of the expo.
